This is where the scheme of working for a company begins. You may envision yourself climbing that corporate ladder with promotion after promotion but in actuality, you wind up simply just trying your best to keep the job you already have.
Of course your employer promises that if you work hard and do well, you'll get their job one day but you find that you have to compete with everyone else in the office for a promotion and it's likely that if you're not sucking up to your boss, you won't even be considered.
So you end up looking like you learn at a slow pace by staying in that same role for 5 years or even longer in hopes of getting that well-deserved promotion. You may even find a job somewhere else that is likely the same job you already had, it's just that now you get paid for the "extra work" you did at your last job. But if you work on a salary instead of hourly and you end up working longer hours, are you really getting paid more?
It's really sad that we spend most of our time living our life this way, so dependent on a job and not enjoying our lives. My advice is to start your own business and I've listed a few opportunities for you below if you're interested but if you don't mind the scheme of working for someone else because you love what you do, don't let me stop you from doing so. If you have any other realizations of the scheme of working for a company, please leave a comment as I'd love to hear from you.
