Some key steps into taking on this challenge are figuring out what you want to accomplish, how you are going to accomplish these goals, why your want to accomplish them and in what time frame for each goal. I know it sounds simple but believe me, it makes the world of a difference when you do it.
After you've written what you want to accomplish, ask yourself why you want to accomplish these specific things. When you do this, you may learn something new about yourself simply because you never thought about your true reasoning behind achieving something or you may find that you don't have a reason and for that reason, I suggest you delete this goal. Because if you don't know why you want to do something, you shouldn't waste time doing it since it obviously isn't that important to you.
Once you've narrowed down exactly the goals you've set that are important to you, it's time to do what I call, macro and micro goal setting. This is where you take the goals you have set for the year and break them down to months, weeks, days and hours. This is what will truly help you achieve your heart's desires. Sometimes we set a big goal and then never accomplish it because we didn't consider the small steps we needed to take in order to get there.
This will also fall into the category of how you are going to accomplish your goals. So you will need to simultaneously consider what you want to accomplish during a specific time frame and how you are going to accomplish it. For example, I set a goal to publish my second book next year and I am doing this to enlighten women on the true meaning of style. So I would then figure out which month I want to publish it and I've decided that I am publishing it in May 2016. I would then figure out how I will do it. That gives me about 4 1/2 months to have everything done so I now need to figure out how to get it all done in that timeframe based on months, weeks, days and hours. If I need more time or if I need less time then I can change my macro goal of publishing in May 2016 accordingly.
If you follow these steps, you will find yourself achieving a lot more than you have ever accomplished before. You may not accomplish everything exactly when you want to because this is a hypothesis and just as when you prepare your hardest for an interview, you still may not get the job. However, the point is to get yourself started and to stop feeling overwhelmed with the goals you've set for yourself because when you take baby steps, you learn that it's not so hard to get started and soon you'll be walking towards your dreams.
