Ralph Lauren had a great "preppy-mod" concept in his line for spring/summer 2014. A great example of this combination is his first look, in which he presents an A-line black dress with a white collar. Although, this look is mod itself, this was the right mod piece to introduce the combination as he transitions into ties, vests and buttoned-up shirts for a preppy appeal.
The dresses exuded mod but styling them with those 70's sunglasses confirmed it. My favorite piece was his final evening gown. I just loved how this red dress had a cape that started just below the shoulders. It seemed to be an innovative mod design.
As fashion week comes to a close, I was impressed with many designers and I am looking forward to seeing a lot of their pieces in stores. I hope you've enjoyed my reviews on NYFW!
