"Life gives you hints at your calling, listen to your soul and use clues to make your path. Never give up because victory could only be a day away!"
Chef Bambina, better known as Stephani Syfax, is the perfect example of how one opportunity can truly open all doors for you and get you on the fast track to success. It's sometimes about taking an opportunity that exposes people to what you are capable of that can be the main reason why a business fails or succeeds. For if no one knows about your business, how can you expect it to grow?
Bambina's opportunity to cook for one of the top 3 wide receivers in all of the NFL, AJ Green helped jumpstart her career as a chef for players of the Cincinnati Bengals on many levels and today she is "shaking love" on the souls of her clients through her passion of cooking for the heart and soul and treating them like family.
Although she found her passion for cooking at a very early age, it wasn't until college that she considered pursing it as a career.. Her major at the time was in journalism and she thought her career would be in journalism but because her growth as a chef moved quickly, she realized that cooking was her calling.
Bambina's experience on Season 5 of Masterchef made her a better person, a better chef and built her character in a more positive way. She went to the competition with the mindset of winning and even though she made it to the top 20 out of 100, it wasn't good enough for her. However, she was happy to meet a lot of people and it pushed her to prove herself right by quitting her job. Bambina was motivated to show that she IS an awesome cook and that she is more than the person you see on tv.
After Masterchef, Bambina was broke and was behind on her bills. She took a job as a sous chef at a country club, which was rough for her because it required her to work 12-14 hours a day. As a result, she struggled to find a way to balance her professional and personal life while still making money. She was unhappy everyday so she decided to reach out to everyone that she desired to cook for through social media. However, because Bambina created a new image for herself when looking for clients on social media by not associating herself with Masterchef, nobody responded because nobody knew who Chef Bambina was.
One day, Bambina became overwhelmed at work and drove up to a hill and just cried her eyes out as she needed to find answers for the right direction on her journey of life. As soon as she was on her way back, AJ Green's wife called her to set up a meeting. AJ fell in love with Bambina's steak and this is when Chef Bambina's business took off. She literally went from being down and out to gaining her first personal client within 24 hours, who just happens to be one of the top 3 wide receivers for the NFL.
Bambina believes that with desire, belief and patience, your situation can change in an instant so always continue to give your best effort and wait for the universe to give back to you. She's learned that at the end of the day, no matter what the outcome is, YOU have to live with it, nobody else; so it's best to make your own decisions.
She believes it's important to help people get to know who you are instead of what they see so you can get the opportunities you deserve and desire. You have to get over self-doubt when things don't go how you think they will. Bambina admits there was a point where she didn't even know if she still wanted to be a chef but after letting go of her self-doubt, she has proven to herself that she is doing exactly what she was meant to do at this moment in her life.
During this short period of time, Bambina has acquired more celebrity clients such as players of the Cincinnati Reds and professional comedian, Gary Owen. She has helped with many charitable events with organizations such as the Carlos Dunlap Foundation, the Michael Johnson Foundation, the Dre Kirkpatrick Foundation and with the Free Store Food Bank, which hosts the Taste of the NFL. Bambina now has her own charity, Bambina Cares To Cater, where she feeds the local homeless delicious hot soul food dinners.
She says to not be afraid to struggle because it's when you're struggling that it starts to get good. Bambina also believes that you shouldn't be cheap with your business because then you'll get cheap results. She affirms that you must invest in yourself and your business because that's when people will believe in you because you're showing that you believe in yourself.
Chef Bambina has accomplished so much in only her first full year of business as a celebrity chef and I can only imagine how much more she will achieve in the rest of her lifetime.
