When you've grown to understand the true meaning of style, you realize that it is far beyond what many people think and know that it leaves clues to yourself about who you are.
Many times we are ready for spring and even after it arrives, it still feels like winter. The sun is shining and deceiving because it appears to be 65 degrees outside when it's really 40 degrees. We want to wear sunglasses to block the sun while wearing our winter coat even though it seems odd. (I often do this in the winter as well) So what do you do?
By understanding the true meaning of style, you understand it is a reflection of everything about you but you may be wondering how it possibly extends to everything you associate yourself with? Many of us are used to considering style as it relates to your wardrobe but in reality, style is in everything.
Dressing in the summertime professionally can be challenging because when it's scorching hot outside, we want to wear as less as possible, not a 3 piece suit. However, we must be selective in our choice of dress because some things just aren't excusable because it's 100 degrees outside. This is especially true when you are spending 8 hours of your day in an air conditioned building.
When purchasing items that you intend to wear often or for a long period of time, it is important that you purchase these items at the highest level of quality you can afford.
Some women tend to feel superior to others when they purchase an item that is full price or just became available in stores. It's their way of saying, "I can afford this." Although it is nice to feel confident when you see something you love that you can afford to buy, it is not wise to purchase something at full price when you can get it on sale.
Whenever I explain to people that my company focuses on the importance of style, they always inquire about fashion and the latest trends. It can be annoying but I understand that they have selective hearing and because they don't understand the difference, they continue to believe they are the same thing.. It's not their fault that the world has failed to educate them on the difference and that is why I am here.
I consider we can often be underdressed but your can never be overdressed. There is usually a shift in your confidence level when you don't believe you are dressed on a similar level to those around you. When you are what is considered, underdressed, your confidence is lower because you have the perception that you aren't as good as those around you. However, when your look makes you feel you are dressed as someone who is most influential to others, it is a beautiful thing.
I don't wear much makeup because I am confident in knowing I am beautiful just the way I am and I don't need to "make myself up'," yet when it comes to highlighting my features, you will catch me wearing lipstick if nothing else.. Why? Because it draws attention to the powerful words I speak. I believe it gives the perception that whatever I say is more important than it would be without it. But you will have to understand how to use color to your advantage to realize this power of color on your lips.
Besides the fact that you workout and perform activities that require you to dress in a more relaxed manner, having your sloppy dress days are just as important as any other style of dress. The way you dress is a reflection of who you are, how you are feeling at the moment and who you are becoming.
