A person's style is everything that our senses can experience when it comes to reflecting on that individual. Anything other people can see, touch, hear, smell or speak as it relates to you, reflects your style. It's truly about bringing your inner beauty to life. Of course, this will include your appearance but there's so much more. Where you live, how you eat, the job you have and the list continues to go on and on. It's literally everything about you.
Of course we have ambitions and strive to change in certain areas but until we make the change, our style will often reflect our current situations. This is because most people are highly influenced by the style of their current situations. For example, you may want a better job but you probably speak, behave and do many of the same things that other people do in your current job because you are around them all the time.
I think people confuse fashion for style because your complete look (hair, makeup, fragrance and wardrobe) is usually the first thing people see and they make an assumption about who you are from that. That's why employers focus more on what you wear in comparison to what you say in an interview.
Branding yourself and caring about your image should be important to you. It's essential to not create a style for yourself but to be yourself and let your style speak for you. You shouldn't care what people think of you but understand that everything you do reflects your style. When you care about what you think of yourself, you'll learn to build your image by living the way you truly want to and you'll find peace in reflecting your true style.
