The key is to make the appropriate rewards in a way that keeps us motivated to progress on a higher level. For example, if you made it through the day without letting your boss get to you, you should give yourself a cookie (lol seriously though) because for some of us, that takes a lot of work. However, that's not a big enough accomplishment to take a trip to Hawaii. You'd take yourself to Hawaii for celebrations such as successfully growing your own business or surviving an illness. This way, you appreciate your rewards and aren't spoiling yourself with treasures that you haven't worked for.
Some of you may believe that you deserve to spoil yourself and it is true in the sense that you deserve to have anything you want but if you were to have everything you wanted without working hard to obtain such treasures, would you appreciate them or would they become meaningless because it was so easy to obtain them?
So reward yourself as often as you can so you are always motivated to accomplish your goals and live your dreams because you can't depend on other people to acknowledge your hard work. More importantly, do it in a way that allows you to anticipate and appreciate your rewards so that you remain humble and maintain meaning of life while enjoying the treasures of the world.
