We are taught that makeup is a necessity and not an enhancement. Most women wear some form of makeup everyday as we are told it makes us look professional. Because for some reason, our natural appearance is unacceptable. There's also the belief that some women need makeup and others don't. This is telling women that we need products to be and look beautiful. It emphasizes that our character and physical features are not what makes us beautiful.
Women who don't buy into society's standards for beauty and who don't consistently "keep themselves up" are not considered beautiful and are told they don't care about themselves. When in fact, I believe the opposite is true, If you are always hiding your natural beauty then you must think you aren't beautiful. So you are constantly "fixing" yourself to believe that you are.
I understand that you have an image to present to the world and that you are not always going to have a "natural" look. Just be sure that when you change your appearance it is because you want to and not because you have to. There is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight to be healthy or highlighting your features to express your beauty. It's just important that you know you're beautiful just the way you are.
Beauty is anything that delights the senses (Learn more about beauty in Love's Diary). External beauty is attractive but if you have an ugly soul, that beauty will fade fast. A woman with a beautiful soul is more powerful than a woman who has a beautiful face. It is her being and existence that attracts you to her and not her changing appearance.
